In October of 2025 volunteers from McKesson again showed their support for Richmond parks by volunteering at Dell Meadow in Byrd Park. Leaning into a desire to bolster a garden already planted to nourish pollinators, and heavily supported by staff from the Department of Parks, Recreation, and Community Facilities, a large river birch was added to the garden, encircled by five button bushes and twenty cardinal flower.
At the perimeter of the garden and in the beds facing the roadway a selection of over a hundred of Black-eyed Susans, asters, swamp milkweed, butterfly weed, Veronia, blue mistflower, and little bluestem were planted, adding even more pollinators to a well-established garden.
