The Oregon Hill Park Stewards volunteer group supports the green spaces in Richmond, Virginia’s historic Oregon Hill neighborhood. One of the city’s oldest intact Antebellum neighborhoods featuring tree-lined streets fronting colorful Italianate row houses, Oregon Hill hosts numerous natural spaces serving a variety of community needs, including Holly Street Playground, Robert Pleasants Park, Oregon Hill Linear Park, Riverside Park, the Oregon Hill Community Garden, and the Idlewood rotary park, as well as the bucolic Hollywood Cemetery, the final resting place for many prominent Richmond residents and home to some of the largest trees in the city. Oregon Hill Park Steward’s mission is to maintain and strengthen the neighborhood’s green spaces for lasting health and sustainability for the shared public enjoyment of neighbors and residents from across the city.
